Footnotes and Footprints

I started this blog as I prepared to take the biggest trip of my life. Yes, that’s right, I spontaneously decided to book a trip to Egypt as a grad student. I loved traveling but I had never been on a trip like this. It felt like jumping into the deep end. But it was the best thing I’d ever done. I created this blog because I want to share what I’ve learned along the way with other students who feel like traveling is out of reach in this stage of life. It’s not! I have conference presentations to create, theses to write, and books upon books to read, but I’ve found ways to travel and I want to help you too. Join me as I take breaks from my footnotes to make footprints across the globe.
